343 Beautiful Girl!

I took family photos for a fabulously talented photographer friend back in July, and we agreed on a services swap. I just had to get the girls in to her studio. I had been trying and things kept falling through. Finally today we were able to stop in. She has such a great space! I was absolutely jealous!
I can't wait to see how they turn out!!!
I had to sneak though, and take a quick one of the DQ with my camera.

331 Photo Shoot

I shot pictures for a friend's family tonight. I had a blast because they are such a fun family! We hit up Old Town Scottsdale and tried some fun shots under the moon and Christmas lights. I LOVE how they all turned out!

329 All Together Now

Well, I tried to get a photo of all of the kids together.
This was as close as I got.
Little miss just doesn't like having her picture taken.
But hey, they're all in it, and you can see their faces for the most part.
Twenty years from now, it will be such a treasure!!

323 Evening Walk

The LT and I took a walk tonight after eating waaay too much again. We passed by the school that I taught at for two years before resigning to move to Georgia.
Over the past year and a half, it has been scraped and rebuilt. This is a shot of the playground from the street. My classroom used to sit right in the middle of this field.

322 Night of the Living Dead

Ok, so not really. I am alive.
It was close for a little bit though.
(not really)
We spent the day at the LT's mom's visiting with family. I spent a lot of time on the couch, but am feeling better now.
I certainly enjoyed the sunset this evening!

310 Love

The leaves seem to have changed overnight.
They are really quite breathtaking.
I prefer them on the trees however... they are not as magical to me when they are blowing all over the ground.

294 This is What It's All About

I did a photo sesh a few months ago with a friend who had a baby while her husband was in Afghanistan. He was able to "attend" the birth via Skype, but obviously, that is not the same as actually meeting your baby.
She texted me two days ago and said she just found out he would be coming home early and asked if I would come along to take pictures.
Um. Of course!!!
What a beautiful experience it was!!
It wasn't like you see on TV where there are 400 soldiers looking for their loved ones, there were only a handful of soldiers who came back and so they had this intimate moment in the parking lot.
I suppose I don't really need to say anything more. I'll just let the picture speak for itself.

282 SOOTC

As in Straight Out Of The Camera. No photoshop necessary.
We went up to Callaway Gardens today with friends and I managed to snap this gem. It was so gorgeous up there and the weather was perfect! We've been spoiled by this 4 day weekend for sure!!

265 Busy Day

Today was awesome.
I did two photo shoots.
The first one made me SO happy though because it was for a dear friend who's husband was graduating from Ranger School!!!!
(seriously, check out that link)
He's been gone since May. The course is 61 days, but there are three phases, and if you mess up, you have to repeat the phase. He was recycled once each for the second and third phases.
It seriously made me so happy to see their family be reunited and also to see the cool Ranger demonstrations.
This wasn't him, but it was during a demonstration of rappelling skills. This wasn't even that cool of a skill, but I really love the geese flying by.
If you have a little time on your hands, PLEASE watch this about Ranger school. Craziness!!

262 My Monet

I snapped this with my phone today.
It has been threatening rain, but sometimes it just looks dark. Well a cloud exploded and poured down on us while we were in line at McDonald's. It was crazy.
We pulled into the parking lot to eat and wait for the rain to slow and it stopped with in a few minutes.
I love the way the tree looked through the windshield.

222 My Job is So Rough

Today I had another practice photo shoot. I was so honored to take some pictures of this precious little one. Her daddy is deployed in Kuwait until next year.
I was so excited to not only practice, but to give this family a gift; capturing those brand new moments and documenting her in her very first week.
I will have more on the blog later, once he has seen them all.
I am so thankful for those men and women who volunteer and sacrifice so much for the freedoms we enjoy.

137 Fireflies!

The one thing I've been dying to see since we moved out here is fireflies. I was pretty disappointed when we got here at the end of last summer and didn't see any. There were certainly plenty of cicadas to go around though (and keep me up all night).
Tonight the DQ went to her first YW activity for the upcoming Girls' Camp. (She had a blast) As we were leaving, I happened to see something tiny flash out of the corner of my eye.
A firefly!!
So like a crazy woman, I drove to the back of the church parking lot and sat there trying to capture one.
And capture one I did!
Just one.
Barely.
When we got home, I braved the biting flies and spiders and stood in the backyard for about 20 minutes trying to find more. I did spot a few, but I think they spotted me too because by the time I got the settings right on the camera, they stopped flashing.
Oh well. I was glad I got at least one.
Now I have a new nightly obsession.

95 First Photo Shoot

Today I did my first "official" photo shoot under my new "business venture".
I had so much fun taking pictures of little miss Bridget.
I think they turned out pretty good. It was seriously so hard to choose one for today!!
