274 Danger

A boy scout came by last year selling caramel corn. I bought a bag to be supportive and promptly ate the whole thing.
Not at once mind you, but I did leave it in my car so I could snack on it while running errands. (and maybe so no one else would find it.)
The LT answered the door when a different boy scout and his dad came by this year. He chatted with them for a while and then told me he'd ordered a bag.
They came back tonight and I was surprised to see that he had ordered 2 bags.
I may or may not have eaten half of one bag while typing this post...

I did.

273 Loved

I got a text this morning from this little guys mom. She said "Are you going to the baptism this afternoon? R woke up at 5:50 this morning crying for the DQ and I promised him he could see here there."
She has babysat for him and his big brother and they just adore here.
When he walked into the room for this afternoon's church event, he walked straight over to her and sat in her lap the whole time.
TOO cute.

272 Lovely

I am counting down the days until we can move out of this "house". Reason #477, this little guy who got stuck in the kitchen window for a while.
Fortunately, the crappy screen that is not properly attached that let him through had a gap large enough for him to find to exit as well.
I'm fine with the nature. Just stay out of my kitchen.

271 Another Job Done!

I had a great time photographing a family last week. Today I finished up their pictures and delivered them. I really do love this job!

270 Bubbles!

Bean and I took advantage of some cooler weather and blew bubbles. Love how easy and fun that is!

269 Fall Festival

Dexter Elementary had their Fall Festival early this year. Bean was SO excited to go.
The evening was warm, but not too bad. Daddy was even able to meet us there after work!
The DQ volunteered to help to clock hours for NJHS and she was also happy to see friends there.
It was a great night for all!!

268 Everything is Booah!!!

Yesterday was the first official day of fall! Of course, it was about 90° today, but the mornings are quite brisk.
Most of the people in the neighborhood have brought out their fall decorations. I'm not quite ready to accept that yet, but I'm loving the cooler weather.
Our next door neighbor hung this up the other day. I've been meaning to get a picture of it, but they were always home and I felt creepy about it.
Today I finally noticed when they weren't home and got a picture (not creepy at all right?)
I love how everyone in the army can make every day things into an army version!

267 Phoning it In

Yup. This is a picture of my TV.
I forgot to take a picture until I was just about to fall asleep.
I just so happened to have my camera on the night stand because I had been checking some settings.
So, you're welcome for this awesome picture of Lisa Simpson.

266 Temple Day

Five of the six kids...the DQ didn't really want to sit on the curb with them.
Also, I gave up hope of trying to get them to look and smile. This picture makes me laugh!
We planned a Temple day with friends today. We took turns watching the kids, so we were able to attend services. There were six kids total and they had a blast running around in the grass and blowing bubbles. It was fun too, for the adults to hang out!
We all grabbed lunch at Chipotle afterward, and of course, that was a perfect end to a great morning.

265 Busy Day

Today was awesome.
I did two photo shoots.
The first one made me SO happy though because it was for a dear friend who's husband was graduating from Ranger School!!!!
(seriously, check out that link)
He's been gone since May. The course is 61 days, but there are three phases, and if you mess up, you have to repeat the phase. He was recycled once each for the second and third phases.
It seriously made me so happy to see their family be reunited and also to see the cool Ranger demonstrations.
This wasn't him, but it was during a demonstration of rappelling skills. This wasn't even that cool of a skill, but I really love the geese flying by.
If you have a little time on your hands, PLEASE watch this about Ranger school. Craziness!!

264 Ohmagosh

I stopped by the school today to pick up Bean's school pictures.
I may be a little biased, but this is pretty much one of the best school photos I've ever seen!!!!
I think it should totally be used in their marketing campaign.
But that's just me...

(it's a little hazy because I took this picture with my phone, I should just scan it into the computer)

263 Dang

The moon is SO difficult for me to shoot. I don't have a lot of patience with it, and I'm sure my lenses are not super adequate for that kind of photography.
STILL, I try. I love how you can see the moon part that is not reflecting the light of the sun.
Marvelous.

262 My Monet

I snapped this with my phone today.
It has been threatening rain, but sometimes it just looks dark. Well a cloud exploded and poured down on us while we were in line at McDonald's. It was crazy.
We pulled into the parking lot to eat and wait for the rain to slow and it stopped with in a few minutes.
I love the way the tree looked through the windshield.

261 Uuhhhhh....

Don't you love it when you get a message like this?
Luckily, I was able to go through the fixes and things are working great now.
Scared the crap out of me though!

259 Worth It

We ventured up to Atlanta today for some birthday shopping. I was delighted to learn that Atlanta has a Nothing Bundt Cakes there and it was imperative that we procure a cake from there. (I can't bake my own birthday cake, right?)
It was delicious. Perfection.
It honestly made it feel like home was a little closer.

258 Oh Yum!

Gotta love my mama! She sent me a box of hand packed See's today. They survived the heat and were as delicious as always.
And no, there were not too many butterscotch squares!

257 Thanks Georgia!

The state of Georgia thought it would be a great reminder to people to have their license plate tags expire on their birthday. I nearly forgot until today. Since my b-day is on Saturday, and we have a lot to do tomorrow, I was able to get to the office in Cusseta before it closed. The town is the epitome of small southern town. I just love their tiny post office!

256 Camping

This is as close as we'll get to camping here. I don't love camping, and the bugs are so crazy here, I don't think we'd survive the night!
Bean didn't mind. Her room is much more cozy.

255 Field Trip

We downloaded Google Earth today and the girls had so much fun exploring the world with it. Of course, they had to stop by some old haunts as well, such as our house in Scottsdale. It even has the LT's old car parked there. Bean said "Daddy and I are in there building a volcano." Love her memories of the place!

254 Love the View

The girls love to play outside, and I love that I can keep an eye on them as I work in the kitchen!

253 Model Girl

I made this dress for Bean this week! She couldn't wear it to church because I sewed the neck after she went to bed last night and it was too small. So after we got home, I fixed it and she happily modeled it for me. Don't you just love the pose she came up with!?

252 Nature Walk

The LT lead us on a hike down the nature trail nearby. While I enjoyed it, I was on guard the whole time for creepy crawlies.
We spotted this ginormous web. It didn't show well in the picture, but there is a huge spider lying in wait at the bottom of that funnel!

251 My, How You Have Grown!

The DQ got her school pictures today. I can't believe how grown up she looks!!!
She is growing into such a beautiful young woman.
And on the topic of growing up, she is off at her first night time babysitting job! She was really excited to do it. Luckily she's a street away if anything goes wrong, but I am fully confident tonight will be a success!

250 Like I Needed a Reason

The LT offered cookies to someone in his office as a thank you. The Cpt declined, saying "Na, no worries" to which the LT replied, "My wife was going to make these pumpkin chocolate chip..." "Ok, sure!" (before the LT could even finish the sentence.
So I happily obliged since I don't have to send all of the cookies into the office.
These are my absolute favorites and I am so excited that it's fall and pumpkin is back en vouge for the season!

(If you want some of these delicious bites for yourself, you can find the recipe here.)

249 Scientifically Minded

We ventured out to the Columbus Public Library today. I can't believe we've lived here a whole year and this is the first we've visited it. It's a beautiful library and the girls are excited to come back each week.
When we got home, Bean decided to go outside to observe things, and the DQ started reading a book she picked up today.
I love how much initiative they are taking already!!

248 Big Change

After much thought and deliberation, we have decided to homeschool the girls.
Something I swore I was never capable of.
The main reason behind it is that there is a strong possibility that with all the moving this year, the girls would be in three different schools.
We wanted to have some sort of consistency.
We weren't going to start right away, but they were really excited, and didn't want to go to school today, so we started today!

247 Happy Birthday!

We celebrated with the girls' favorite non-family babysitter and church teacher today. Her birthday was last week, but Labor Day made for a fun BBQ/gathering day.

246 Neighborhood Gathering

Our great neighbors across the street (who also happen to be in our ward) invited us over for a cookout this evening. They were feeding the missionaries, so they invited pretty much the whole street to come too.
One neighbor (who also is in our ward) has mad decorating skills and brought a huge chocolate chip cookie all decked out in red, white, and blue for a certain presidential candidate.
It was beautiful and delicious.
And the company was great too!

245 Ch, Ch, Cha Changes...

I've been doing a lot of sorting lately... preparing for some changes about to happen in our house...
