91 Can I Call This Cute?

The LT has decided that he needs a motorcycle.
(despite his 1.5 mile commute)
To humor him, we went to Extreme Powersports (awesome name huh?) to see what is out there.
I was almost creeped out by this thing. It looks a little too real. Like maybe it belongs in the movie Cars. Or Transformers. Or Christine (yikes!).
But it is kinda cute too. I guess it's an overgrown tricycle, since there in only one wheel in the back.

Oh, and we walked out empty handed.
Just in case you were wondering.

90 Oh Baby!

Today a dear friend had a baby!
She had a c-section, and asked me to come help out while her husband picked up their 2 year old after the delivery.
I loved being there.
There is something just so sweet and tender about a brand new baby.
It is such a fascinating thing to see those brand new baby fingers and toes, and peach fuzz hair.
I took lots of pictures for them.
I also decided that at this stage of my life, I much more enjoy helping out and snuzzling, and being the aunt/friend, than all the crazy new mom part.
I am definitely ok with that.

89 Bittersweet

Today I drove out to the Chatahooche County Courthouse in  Cusseta(it's at the 4-way stop in the middle of town, I had to wait for a tractor driving through town; it's right across from a rusted metal scrap heap...you can't miss it) to get a Georgia license plate.
My tags expired this month, and they never sent me the renewal form, and for some reason I couldn't do it online. No matter, it would have made it that much harder to not renew in AZ.
You see, the initial registration of my car was around $300, and I'm guessing the renewal would have been around the same.
So I had to say goodbye to this:
And I got a boring old, normal GA plate.
It cost me $20.

At least that fee made me happy.

88 The Good Life

This evening was perfect. We had a few extra kids over and so we all spent a lot of time outside. The LT loves to play with the neighbor's dog, a boxer named Star.
The girls collected more calapiters and slid down the slide, the LT played with Star and threw the football with the DQ, and I just watched and enjoyed the beautiful weather and complained about the bugs with the neighbor.
We are so loving life right now!!

87 Of Course We Already Knew This

Tonight, an Academic Festival was held at the DQ's school. We went around and saw projects that had been done and spoke with her teachers.
They all told us how wonderful she is and what a delight she is as a student.
She had a portfolio of work in her gifted class. She had recieved perfect marks on all of the writing samples inside, and the comments from her teacher almost brought me to tears!
She truly is an amazing child. I am SO blessed to be her momma!

86 Biking to School

Bean rode her bike to school today! She LOVED it. But she was tired after school and it took her a lot longer to get home.
We LOVE living so close to the school!

85 Exhausted

This weekend has been a busy one for us. The girls have been going to bed pretty late every evening. This evening we went to dinner at some friends from church's house. They have 2 boys and the kids played hard in the backyard and had a blast while the adults visited and laughed. With this crazy daylight savings time we didn't realize how late it was until I looked at my watch and it was 7:30!
Bean was asleep in the car within 10 minutes.

83 Showtime!

The Drama Queen lived up to her name and stole the show in tonight's performance of Cinderella in New York.
She played Ralp the rat, the rat on the far right.
She was a hoot! (In my motherly opinion) And it seemed like the audience agreed.

82 Good Neighbors

We love our neighbors next door. They moved in in January from Hawaii, but we've really gotten to know them more as the weather has warmed up and we've all spent a lot of time enjoying the weather.
Today, her parents were in town and they were making a trip to Montgomery to go to Costco and she asked if there was anything I wanted.
Of course there was!
She brought me back a Costco lasagna and the spinach and artichoke dip. (No jalapeno in the south :( )
We are SO excited for dinner tonight!!
And I am thankul for awesome, kind neighbors!

81 Ranger Burger

Anytime anyone comes to visit us, we have to go to Ranger Burger in Cusseta. The place is actually called Four Winds, but everyone calls it Ranger Burger because it's near the qualifying area of Ranger school so the Rangers will come fill up on food here, and they offer burgers such as the Ranger, Air Assault, Combat Diver, Sapper, Sniper, etc.
We met some good friends there and had a great time visiting and eating...a LOT.

80 Another Visitor

The LT's sister is in town from now until Sunday.
We are SO excited to have her here!!!

79 It's the Little Things

Lawn maintenance started up again today.
Hallelujah!
Lola was getting lost in the grass!

78 Calapitars

It's like Where's Waldo! There are lots more hiding in the box.
The girls were out playing this afternoon and discovered the backyard was full of caterpillars. Bean and the neighbor hunted high and low and collected about 20 of them!
They found a shoe box and filled it with everything they thought calapitars would need.
The calapitars will be spending the night outside though, much to the girls' dismay.

77 Having a Ball

Tonight we had to go the Airborne Ball.
It was way less stressful than the last one since I wore the same dress and shoes and we didn't know anyone and just had to show up.
It is sure nice to see the LT all spiffed up.
I'm such a lucky girl!

76 Don't Wear Skinny Jeans on a Sunny Day

As you can see.
I have a serious tan line halfway up my calf from my cropped skinny jeans and all that time in the sun yesterday.
And my flip flop tan is coming back.
I missed it.

74 Leaping into YW

Tonight the DQ and I went to the New Beginnings program at church. It's purpose is to welcome girls coming in to Young Women and highlight the Personal Progress program.
This was the poster that was made to welcome her. She had a great time and is really excited to turn 12 so she can be a part of this great program!

72 Great Weekend

Today it was time for family to go home.
We had a great time, and these 3 just couldn't get enough of each other!

Until we meet again...

71 Ohmagosh

So, the LT and I play this game, where, when we see people who look like famous people we point them out. (ex: "Hey! It's _______[guy from tv show]!" And then we laugh because ots totally not that person.)
Today at the Lenox Square Mall, he says, "Hey, that's Ben Wyatt! Isn't that Ben Wyatt?" I'm racking my brain trying to figure out who Ben Wyatt is. We have met so many people lately, that I couldn't place the name. Finally he said "From Parks and Rec!"
Usually, I would laugh at whatever hipster was trying to look like him, but instead, I walked to the front of the store to check it out. AND IT WAS HIM!! Buying things at GAP Kids!!
My first celebrity sighting!!! (ok, I technically saw Mohammed Ali at a salon when I was getting my hair done once, but I was never really a fan.)
I was so nervous because I wanted to say I love the show, but I chickened out. I didn't want to bother the poor guy (Adam Scott is his real name). But I was a nerd and tried to take a picture.
FYI, the LT totally made fun of me for getting so excited. He's not even my favorite character from the show, but it was so exciting to hear him talk and actually see him in person!!

70 Take Me Out to the Ball Game

We spent the day in Auburn today, and caught an Auburn baseball game.
Clearly, the game wasn't the only entertainment.

69 History Lesson

Today we visited the NIM. It was a very moving experience. Seriously nearly every exhibit nearly brought me to the verge of tears. None more so than The Last 100 Yards Ramp. In was a walk through life sized dioramas depicting significant battles in the Infantry's history. It goes from the Civil War to the current conflict in the Middle East. Surprisingly, Bean and her uncle Z were in a quiet awe and listened to everything the LT had to say about each exhibit.

68 Family Time

We're SO THRILLED to have family here visiting!! It will be a fantastic weekend for sure!

67 Good Friends

Today, 3/4 of the Relief Society presidency threw a surprise baby shower for the other 1/4. She had no idea! It was so much fun. I really have loved serving with these wonderful ladies and am sad to think that in a few months, we will be parting ways. The good thing about being a member of the church and the army is that it's such a small world and I am confident that I will meet up with these ladies again in the future!

66 Engrossed

The DQ and I have been devouring The Hunger Games series. (pun intended)
She took advantage of the warm sun today and read a few chapters outside.

65 The Ranges Were Hot Today

pleas pardon the poor quality...I took it with my phone...while driving...(I know! Dangerous! Sorry!)
And by "hot" I mean with fire.
And with "fire" I don't mean gun fire.
Like, they were actually on fire.
It was all part of a planned controlled burn, but this is what I saw as I drove home from the commissary this afternoon. The fire was right up by the road, about a mile from my house. It was a little unnerving when I came around the corner and saw this.
In Arizona, prescribed burns have a tendency to get out of control and do a lot of damage.
Thankfully, this one behaved.

64 Melted

Bean was doodling at church today and then she started writing things about butterflies and spring time. Then she wrote this:
It says "and you love me because you are my heart and I will always be with you"
Pretty sure I will be tearing this out and framing it.

63 Progress

I worked in here pretty much all day today. It is looking much better than it was before, but there is still a lot of work to go. The LT worked hard to clean the rest of the house. We will have family in town for much of March so I have to get it all ready! I can't wait!!

62 Unless...

"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not" - Dr. Seuss
In honor of the great Theodore Geisel's birthday today, I took the girls to see The Lorax. On the way out, the Georgia Forest Association was handing out seedlings to plant. What a great idea!

61 Relaxed

Someone was tired after school.
I am trying to sell this chair, but I have to get her out of it first!
